New Providence New Jersey Mold Testing
New Providence is a township in Union County, New Jersey. As of the 2021 census it has a population of approximately 13,617 inhabitants. It began as a part of the Elizabethtown tract in 1664, and which was then settled in 1720 as “Turkey” or “Turkey Town” because of the proliferation of wild turkeys in the area. In 1737 the Presbyterian Church, a focal point in the community, suffered a fire and because there were no serious injuries the congregation regarded that as an example of “divine intervention” and renamed the settlement to New Providence. In 1809 New Providence Township was formed, but in 1899 New Providence withdrew from the township to be re-incorporated as a borough. The borough is bordered by the Union County municipalities of Berkeley Heights and Summit.
