VOC
VOC stands for Volatile Organic Compounds that are produced by certain solids or liquids. They may include a number of chemicals, some causing illness. VOC concentration may be as much as ten times higher indoors than outdoors. Most of us spend a lot of time indoors, especially in colder weather, and can be adversely affected by VOCs.
MVOC
Microbial Volatile Organic Compounds are produced by actively growing mold. The level of gases produced are measured to determine if it is high enough to need remediation.
Formaldehyde
Formaldehyde is an organic air pollutant made up of carbon, oxygen and hydrogen. Formaldehyde can be present outdoors, but the concentration is generally greater indoors because of the sources that produce it. Testing for formaldehyde is recommended to help prevent certain respiratory conditions.
Particulates
Particulates are matter made of a mixture of solid and liquid droplets floating in the air. Some are released from sneezing or coughing, others are formed from chemical reactions in the atmosphere. Particulates are a specific cause of the spread of Covid 19.
