Mahwah NJ Mold Testing Process

How Does A Mold Inspector Work?

Regular Mold Inspection and Testing is recommended by the EPA. This should be done by an experienced, certified Mold Testing Service such as Mold Testing NJ-NY. We have worked in many homes in Bergen County NJ and surrounding areas and have developed a loyal following of homeowners. We are regularly recommended by one client to another. We are happy to explain the professional mold testing process in NJ to homeowners.

It’s A 5-Step Process

1. Visual Inspection

Visual inspection is the start. This step is important for locating mold and where it originates. Mold is often hidden and invisible, but a visual inspection is essential.

2. Testing the Air

When mold spores are found in the air, there is a mold problem in your home. These spores grow and multiply and can cause allergic reactions and illness, sometimes severe.

3. Surface Testing

Swab or tape samples from surfaces in your house are sent to a lab for analysis.

4. Bulk Testing

If there is a wider area of unidentified mold, a piece of carpeting, or a tile, or a paint sample from the wall or ceiling is taken and sent to a lab for analysis.

5. Culture Testing

Sometimes mold that is found cannot be easily identified. This requires taking a sample and allowing it to grow into a larger culture, and then sending it for analysis.

Do-It-Yourself Is Not Recommended

All Mold Testing Services have their own way of working, but they usually come up with the same results. When mold is found it is essential to know the root cause of the mold. If you don’t know where it came from, you’ll never be able to get rid of it. It will just keep coming back. Do-It-Yourself kits don’t address this – a professional does.

Mold Testing NJ-NY offers a thorough and professional inspection. We are experienced at finding mold, and have the tools needed for collecting samples and getting it tested. Mold continues growing and spreading and can affect the Indoor Air Quality in your home. In some cases it can cause allergic reactions and illness.
